So, its a new year and with it i’m going to try something that I hope you enjoy. My hope is that this will be more impacting then just my written words. every week and hopefully more I am going to show pics/videos of my life. Again and again I try to tell people I meet ”Ministry is my life”! Now I’m writing the book about my interactions which will come in feb 2013. Everyone knows how I feel about Memphis, but i really think that when I begin talking about my love for my community, my city and my world something happens… It causes you to look at where you live and begin to have that same compassion for yours as I do mine! All of this is 365 days! Heres how its works…

Moments are so important to i’ll daily lives. The funny part is you can’t plan them, add them to your ical or put them in a ministry outline, moments just happen. Some are good and are bad. but I have found that even the bad ones with all the pain you always are glad in the end to have been there. Just last week fellow cigar buddy pasted away. We were all together the night before laughing and the next morning we all got word of his pasting. That day I got to go to the cigar shop early and spend time with the owner. Later today we will as a community lay our friend to rest. All of these moments I would not trade for anything!

This weekend my sister came in for christmas with her girlfriend. We had a blast! Many other moments happen this week and to go into them I would need to write all day long! Funny thing about moments is you need to look for them everyday! What are the moments in your life?

This morning has been great! On my way to truly the best coffee shop downtown Bluff City Coffee, I ran into a homeless woman outside of my apartment building.Now like every downtowner I just woke up I was not in the mood to hear how you need money for food when really you want beer money. But this woman was showing me compassion. She said, Sir are you in pain with the way you walk? I assured her that it did not hurt for me to walk. After this we talked for a bit how for her as a single woman with no kids their are not really any homeless shelters for her around here. She never asked me for money or food, as i got on the trolley she just wished a good day. My community downtown cares for me as i do them and the homeless so happen to play a major role in mine. I’m proud to call them my neighbors!

Then I walk in to Bluff City Coffee and everyone is telling jokes and laughing with one another. sometimes i forget how much community is downtown from the north end to the south end. This how I spend my mornings.

As you read this I know most of you if not all of you are getting ready for Thanksgiving. When I think about what I’m thankful for its all ways comes down to one thing. This one this is why I have family, friends, and everything in my life. Its the cross, if Jesus didn’t die for me I would be here at all and God didn’t love me to the point to let His Son die on cross for me/instead of me… Where would I be? I’ll tell ya. If it wasn’t for the cross I would be dead. Jesus, because of the death he died and the pain he took for me, thats want caused me to have new life given back to be after being born dead at birth. IT WAS THE CROSS!! AND then at the age of 12 He healed me where I walk on my own! Because of the cross I’m deeply, madly and passionately in love with Jesus. Because of this I can and do go all over the world. Because of the cross now the simple fact of living beings glory to My Jesus!!!!!!!! So this is what I’m thankful for!!!!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving friends

Fallen Walls is dedicated to build lasting relationships and proclaim that because of Jesus Christ there are no more barriers to those who live in the Downtown Memphis, TN community and beyond.

Thats the mission statement, Its also my own life long passion. But to understand this you need to look pass the words ”Downtown Memphis, TN community” or a better way say it is we must look into the words. For me when I see these words I see people and names. But what happens when your ”Memphis” moves? Or what happens the day you realize that your heart is equipped for so much more then your ”Memphis”? If building relationships with those I come in contact with is in fact the goal then want happens when those relationships are in other parts of the world? Anybody that knows me knows those I build relationships with become close friends and those close friends are family. Also those that really know me knows that the whole process from stranger to family in my mind does not take long at all.
So… Now that I have made it very clear that I have family all over the world, How do I fit that into a nice little clear cut box to show donors/supporters? Because the LORD knows I need more support. My support in very little but God is good! Well the answer is it CAN NOT fit into a box. I’m sorry my heart is too big. Relationships will make you do crazy things that you can’t explain and that goes for any kind of relationship. Now that I have my blood sister in seattle i’ll tell ya i’ll be there more then ever! I look for reasons to go to coffee shops,bars,the cigar shop, churches, city events, Nyc etc. And why? Because I love people and i’ll do anything to get to those I love.
This is the ministry GOD has given be. Some may say ”well I can’t support a guy who hangs out with strangers in order to love them as family” and i’m not asking you. I asking those who knows what the bible says about love to join me.
