As I was feeling discouraged the other day, I went on a walk around my neighborhood and had the opportunity to help an older woman, Janice, carry her large amount of groceries home from the bus stop. She was so special and just like that, I had made a new friend. Stepping out and engaging with others around whether I know them or not reminds me what our day to day purpose truly is-to simply befriend! I am so grateful to be back in my hometown. Spending quality time with my dad, sisters and Deb this past week has been so reviving.

I strongly want to encourage anyone reading this who feels bound by anxiety. Upon returning home, I have found myself quite restless, as I want more answers for everything concerning my future. I’m not usually this torn up feeling weak and insignificant in my condition. Sometimes I want to give up my faith altogether. Sometimes I do not see the point. There is a constant struggle within myself to keep my eyes, heart and mind open! For when I am open, I connect with the truth that in turn sets my spirit free.

Although it seems far from me and I cannot see what lies ahead, I will ask the Lord (who gives generously) for more wisdom, knowing that He will do it. Who am I to look toward another source? Our Creator and King is completely loyal and steadfast. I fear moments like this that I am so unaware.

He is the needle and the thread. Magnificent. He will wake me up again. He will renew my vision.

But He said to me, My grace (My favor, loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. A new coffee shop on my block!!!

As I gear up for the summer their needs to be a change. and i found this. 45 mins but well worth it!

I leave in July for my first week long retreat with the CCDA Cohort 3! Along the way I have books I have to read. I enjoyed this very much. Its a good travel book too!

First thing Monday morning we hopped aboard the Amtrak to explore the city of New Orleans. All our time was spent in the French Quarter which very much reminded me of Amsterdam with serious Caribbean flare! My grandparents met up with us because they were driving from Florida to Oklahoma for my cousin’s graduation. Let me tell you, my grandma never ceases to amaze me! By the time we caught up with her and my grandpa it was 10 at night, right in the thick of a major rain storm, knees all cramped from the day’s drive yet she is trekking around crazy Bourbon Street looking for a place to eat! Just really enjoying life and so forth. It was a lovely trip. I think we need to go back and learn more about the fascinating qualities of New Orleans and what is in store as restoration continues to progress.
